Frequently Asked Questions
For getting the competitive currency exchange rates, you can visit any of our operational Outlets across Pakistan, or call at our given numbers on the Home page of our website.
Note: The published rates are indicative and may change at any time before actual transaction execution. For live executable rates, please contact us through our given numbers or visit any of our outlets. You can find our branch locator on the tab “Outlets”.
Currently we are offering services from Monday through Friday only.
a. From 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m. Monday through Thursday for all outlets.
b. On Fridays, the outlets close for Jumma break from 12:30 pm till 2:30 pm.

Yes, it is mandatory for the customer to visit the Outlet in person to buy foreign currency.
A Resident Pakistani (adult only) can buy a maximum of USD10,000 in one day (or equivalent in other foreign currencies) for deposit in his/her foreign currency account.
A Resident Pakistani (adult only) can buy a maximum of USD100,000 in a calendar year (or equivalent in other permissible currencies) for deposit in his/her foreign currency account.
For travel purposes, each adult can buy a maximum of USD5,000 per visit & USD30,000 per annum or equivalent in other available currencies from our Outlet.
For travel purposes, each Minor can buy a maximum of USD2,500 per visit & USD15,000 per annum or equivalent in other available currencies from our Outlet.
Note: FCY purchase limit cannot exceed USD10,000 Per day and USD100,000 per annum (or equivalent in other available currencies)
- For purchase below USD500 (or equivalent in other currencies):
- Identification document (CNIC, NICOP, POC, passport with valid visa etc.)
- From USD500 to USD999:
- Identification document (CNIC, NICOP, POC, passport with valid visa etc.)
- Biometric verification
- From USD1,000 to USD10,000:
- Identification document (CNIC, NICOP, POC, passport with valid visa etc.)
- Biometric verification
- Purpose of buying foreign currency (e.g., travel, education fee, FC account deposit) with supporting documents
- Valid source of funds in PKR if required for higher amounts

There are no charges for buying or selling foreign currency.
Yes, you can sell all acceptable foreign currencies at the counter of MCB exchange.
There is no per day / per annum limit on FCY selling to MCB Exchange.
We can transfer the converted PKR amount in your bank account held with any bank anywhere in Pakistan.
Yes, you don’t need to visit any of our outlets to sell foreign currency. Just call us and our representative will visit you for execution of transaction. The following documents will be required:
a. Original CNIC of the customer (copy will be retained by us)
b. Request letter from the customer
c. Source of Funds, as and when required

Yes, we can transfer funds in your account held with any bank in Pakistan.

No, your physical presence is a must to purchase foreign currency from our counters.
You can buy maximum USD10,000 or equivalent in other foreign currencies in one day.
No, you can buy maximum of USD100,000 or equivalent in other permissible currencies in a calendar year.
a. For purchase Below USD500 or equivalent other currencies:
- Original Valid CNIC
b. From USD500 to USD999:
- Original Valid CNIC
- before biometric verification
c. From USD1,000 to USD10,000:
- Original Valid CNIC
- biometric verification
- Valid purpose of purchase with documentary proof
a. For purchase of FCY below USD2,000, you can pay in cash
b. For purchase of FCY above USD2,000, amount will only be received through a cheque/ Banker’s cheque/draft or online transfer from customer’s own account.
